Great Minifigure Selection With Okay Builds
This lego set recreates the iconic Expecto Patronum scene from The Prisoner of Azkaban. Most of the builds are two trees from the forbidden forest. These trees look like props from a theater production because from the front they look great but from the back, they don’t. They look very two dimensional and I would have liked for them to have a cylindrical shape so they wouldn’t look too flat. The trees also look short when compared to the stag Patronus. One of the trees has a stud shooter that can shoot out a glittering dish piece that is supposed to represent the Expecto Patronum spell. In the movie, the spell looked much bigger and impressive but the play feature still gets the point across. There’s also a build of a shore and rocks that Sirius Black can rest on. I would have liked it if there was more land area but there is still enough for figures to stand on. Overall this set is a very minimized version of the scene and it would have been great if more pieces were included to give the builds more detail but I’m sure the lego designers were trying to keep the set within a certain budget. The Minifigure selection is great, even if there are no exclusive Minifigures, and fit the scene that is recreated. Sirius Black has an open collar that shows his tattoos. The tattoos aren’t proportional to those seen in the movie, but I think that was done so they could be more noticeable. Lego has a problem with printing skin tones opaque enough and this figure is no exception. The set includes a bland new stag piece that looks magnificent. The piece is molded in hard translucent plastic with silver glitter except for the antlers which are soft plastic and have no glitter. If you are a fan of this scene or want the stag Patronus I would recommend the set but if not I think you can skip this set since there are other ways to get the figures.

a gift
I purchased this as a gift for my grown daughter. She grew up with Harry Potter and assembled many larger lego sets when she lived with us. I had purchased a different one for a granddaughter and thought of my daughter and bought this for her. She enjoyed this blast from the past.

Fun, easy kit.
Great introduction to the Harry Potter Lego universe. What I like was the surprise patronus flying disc, I found it very funny.

Fun display piece with great play features
Given to my girlfriend, who is a massive Potterhead. While not as complex as the sets I usually build, it's a great little display piece with some interesting construction for the trees as well as hidden play features.

Harry Potter Lego Patronum Set
This is a great little set, well worth the small amount of money. The trees are a bit cumbersome to put together, but the figures are excellent.
