i mean there was always ugly fashion, but i dont see the problem in people saying they dont like todays fashion and prefer fashion from the past. i mean that doesnt equal to, every style that was created in the past is better than todays. its just that men used to dress better on average in the past (1950s) in their opinion. this pic is from 1529 so very close the one in the post. showing that not only time but region played a role aswell. plus like today individuals chose individual styles.
